Corporate Engagement Associate
Location: Remote; within EST and CET time zones (including all time zones and regions in between)
Reports to: Director, Net Zero
Hours Per Week (Average): Full Time

We Mean Business (WMB) is a global coalition of non-profit organizations, working with the world’s most influential businesses to act on climate change. We are working to transform the world economy so that it is on track to limit global warming to 1.5°C in ways that deliver sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity. Through unprecedented collaboration, we catalyze business action and drive ambitious policy to halve emissions by 2030 and accelerate an inclusive transition to a net-zero economy by 2050, at the latest.
The Net Zero team works at the core of the coalition to mainstream science-based net zero, setting the new bar for business leadership and action on climate. We work across a range of partnerships to guide net zero approaches towards credibility and complementary, we support initiatives to ratchet global ambition by mobilizing thousands of businesses and we direct companies to the tools they need to deliver on bold net zero climate strategies. Supporting global corporations and small to medium enterprises, we are defining the story of net zero in the decisive decade for climate action.
We are seeking an experienced manager to join our high-performing, remote team.
Responsibilities
- Support and facilitate strategic, coordinated corporate engagement across the Coalition
- Lead the collection, aggregation and synthesis of business data and information in the WMB Salesforce database
- Train and support WMB staff in the regular and consistent use of Salesforce to track corporate engagement activities
- Conduct rigorous market/technical research and business analysis to identify companies who are not part of the WMB network but are critical to engage in order to reach global net zero
- Ensure contacts at companies remain current and GDPR compliant
- Provide coordination, communication, research, and project management support across the full portfolio of WMB initiatives, under the oversight of the Net Zero director
Experience
- >3 years practical experience working with business and NGOs to develop business-led solutions for climate change
- Broad, strategic understanding of the imperative and the organizational and technical complexities of achieving net zero, both for a business and economy-wide
- Knowledge of business strategy, operations, the structure of value chains across diverse economic sectors, and how progressive companies can lead in building the net zero economy
Skills
- Strong quantitative analytical skills applied at the intersection of climate change, business and economics
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and enjoy building relationships and networks with diverse groups and individuals.
- Fluent English required (and is our main language used), other language skills are a plus
- Experience managing large datasets in Excel and Salesforce a plus
