Intern, Transport
Position Summary
We Mean Business Coalition is a global nonprofit coalition of 7 non-profit organizations and 50+ partner organizations working with the world’s most influential businesses to take action on climate change. Together we catalyze business leadership to drive policy ambition and accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy.
We are searching for a highly motivated, eager-to-learn intern with a passion for decarbonizing the transport sector and an interest in accelerating corporate climate leadership to support the work of the Systems Transformation team on transport.
This role will sit in the Systems Transformation Team. The Systems Transformation team develops and directs the overall strategy, coordination, and execution of the coalition’s programs, activities, and collective corporate actions linked to specific systems. We work across energy supply, such as power and demand, including industry, buildings, and transport. We also lead the Fossil to Clean Campaign, launched last year is a global movement of businesses going from fossil fuels to clean solutions. The campaign brings in not only our sector-specific work but also that of the entire organization.
A key component of attaining a global emissions pathway matching the ambition of the Paris Agreement is decarbonizing both passenger and freight movements. Transport is an exciting area to be working within as part of the We Mean Business Coalition as we build out our partnerships and portfolio to speed up the deployment of clean solutions and technologies that will allow us to phase out fossil fuels within transport.
