Position Summary
We Mean Business Coalition is a global nonprofit coalition working with the world’s most influential businesses to take action on climate change. Together we catalyze business leadership to drive policy ambition and accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy.
To achieve a net-zero economy, the world must halve emissions by 2030 and halt and reverse the destruction of nature, starting now.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Manager, Development to support our fundraising efforts and contribute to the successful execution of our 2025-2030 fundraising strategy. This role will focus on supporting the cultivation of relationships with corporate philanthropy, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and assisting with the development of fundraising materials, with a strong emphasis on leveraging Salesforce for efficient donor management.
Responsibilities & Tasks
Donor Relationship Support:
- Assist in the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with current and prospective funders, particularly in Europe and the UK.
- Support the Director of Development and other relevant colleagues in preparing materials for donor meetings and presentations.
- Work with the Director of Development to develop and implement donor engagement strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donor interactions in Salesforce.
- Assist in the coordination of donor communications and engagement activities.
Proposal and Materials Development:
- Conduct research to identify leads and potential funding opportunities.
- Assist in the development of compelling fundraising materials, including cases for support, proposals, and reports.
- Coordinate the collection and organization of information for prospective grant applications.
- Work with Communications, Policy, Operations, and Program teams to gather needed information.
Salesforce CRM Management:
- Serve as a key user and administrator within Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop and generate reports and dashboards to track donor engagement and fundraising progress.
- Ensure data entry is performed accurately and in a timely manner.
Administrative and Logistical Support:
- Manage donor-related correspondence and inquiries.
- Schedule and coordinate donor meetings and events.
- Maintain organized files and databases of donor information.
- Support the Director of Communications and the Director of Development in tracking donor conversations.
Skills and Approach:
- Highly self-motivated and proactive, with a strong ability to work independently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Significant experience and expertise in Salesforce CRM.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a transcontinental team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Passion for climate action and environmental issues.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5-7 years of experience in fundraising or related fields.
- Proven track record of raising funds, including experience managing bespoke funding opportunities and securing six-figure gifts from corporate philanthropy, foundations, and/or HNWI.
- Demonstrated expertise in Salesforce CRM.
- Flexibility to work in a remote/ hybrid organisation with colleagues across multiple time zones.
- Background or experience in the climate or environmental sector is a strong plus.
