We are at a critical moment. Governments, starting with the world’s most advanced economies, must urgently align their implementation plans with 1.5°C.
This weekend, with the COP27 outcomes being drafted and the G20 meeting about to get underway in Bali, We Mean Business Coalition and The B Team released a statement signed by hundreds of business and civil society voices.
The signatories have all reaffirmed their own commitment to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C and call on governments to strengthen their commitments and plans – and implement them without delay.

Over one hundred businesses including Acciona, Amazon, IKEA, Microsoft, Nestlé, Unilever, Volvo Cars and Walmart have signed. They are joined by civil society organizations such as ITUC, The Elders, UN Global Compact, and prominent individuals including Christiana Figueres, Mary Robinson and Johan Rockström.

It is inspirational that so many came together to raise their voices following our urgent call. For this is a moment to double down on delivering those commitments made in Glasgow and to collectively do everything in our power to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
The science remains unchanged: 1.5°C is a limit not a target. We are already witnessing the devastating impacts of climate change at 1.2°C of heating. To keep people safe, every fraction of a degree of global heating matters.
This is why governments and business must continue to go all in.
