100+ companies back clean electrification
We Mean Business Coalition
As London Climate Action Week gets underway, We Mean Business Coalition, alongside Global Renewables Alliance, has published a new business statement that calls on governments to accelerate clean electrification.
Signed by over 100 companies, with a combined annual revenue of over $1.5 trillion USD, this statement urges governments to establish clean electrification as a central pillar of economic and industrial strategy.
Companies that joined the call include ACCIONA, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, dsm-firmenich, EDF, E.ON, Enel Group, Fortescue, H&M Group, Iberdrola, IKEA, Levi Strauss & Co., Natura, Nikon, Roche, Scania Group, Schneider Electric, Signify, Siemens, Uber and Volvo Cars.
This message is delivered the same day as WBCSD’s Business Breakthrough Barometer, which also highlights how businesses are scaling sustainable solutions, including clean energy and electrification because they are the most cost-competitive, secure and resilient options.
The barometer sends another strong signal that businesses are looking for coordinated policy — with over half of respondents citing clarity and stability of transition policy and regulation as a key criterion in their investment choices.
As London Climate Action Week continues, we’re co-hosting the Global Energy Transition and Electrification Summit, bringing together policymakers, business leaders and other stakeholders to build policy support and practical action towards an accelerated energy transition.
