The Government’s focus on accelerating clean power and electrification begins to address that exposure at its source, setting a clearer path towards a more stable and domestically powered energy system.
“The actions announced go to the heart of delivery. Unblocking grid connections, expanding clean power across the Public Estate and making it easier to electrify transport and heating all target known constraints. The commitment to reduce the link between electricity and gas prices is particularly significant. It signals a shift towards a system where electricity better reflects its underlying cost, improving price stability and strengthening the case for electrification. Taken together, today’s announcement supports the development of a strong foundation for business investment in a more resilient energy system that will benefit British families and the economy.”
