Hosted by: Climate Group
Moderator: Champa Patel, Executive Director, Governments and Policy, Climate Group
Reaching net-zero by 2050 and meeting 2030 milestones depends on how effectively countries implement their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). This session reframes electrification and the managed, equitable phase-out of fossil fuels as a practical NDC implementation agenda point, showcasing how subnational authorities and the private sector convert national pledges into bankable projects, jobs, and emissions reductions.

Trends in Corporate Energy Transition in India
Hosted by: The Sunrise Project, We Mean Business Coalition, Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), The Climate Group

While coal remains central to India’s energy mix, renewables are advancing fast. In July 2025, India surpassed 50% non-fossil electricity generation — a milestone the government celebrated globally. With only around 192 GW of renewables installed toward its 500 GW goal by 2030, rapid acceleration is essential. Corporates will play a decisive role by shifting investments from coal, aligning with global standards, and ensuring a just transition. Building on India’s strong policy commitments, business leadership can drive ambition, unlock international finance, and set an example for the Global South’s clean energy transformation.

Doubling Down on Oil and Gas Methane Emissions Reduction and Decarbonization
Hosted by: BCG
Methane emissions account for 45% of the oil and gas sector's greenhouse gas emissions. Drastically reducing methane emissions, alongside flaring reduction and energy efficiency, is the only viable way to achieve our short-term decarbonization targets. Failure to curb methane emissions could undermine the role of natural gas as a transition fuel, jeopardize oil and gas companies’ green businesses and ultimately result in regulators restricting companies’ access to markets. This session will provide an opportunity to re-cap key developments in O&G decarbonization and methane emissions over the past 12 months; learn what lies ahead directly from peers and key leaders in the space; and share your own progress, challenges and advice.
