IKEA Foundation supports We Mean Business coalition with $44.6 million grant
The IKEA Foundation has announced that it is supporting the We Mean Business coalition with a $44.6 million grant across four years. By inspiring business to take action to cut the emissions that cause climate change, the We Mean Business coalition will help reduce the risks all communities face from a changing climate.
The grant is the second largest ever made by the IKEA Foundation. It is a strong vote of confidence in the power of the coalition to continue to catalyse business action, drive policy ambition and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.
The IKEA Foundation is delighted to join the community of funders supporting action on climate change. However there is more to do. Less than 2% of all philanthropic funding is allocated to climate-related issues. With bold, long-term support for the We Mean Business coalition the IKEA Foundation has sent a powerful signal to the broader philanthropic community, encouraging further, faster commitment to support action on climate change to create a more prosperous future for children and families living in some of the world’s poorest communities.
