The nature and climate crises are inextricably linked, as are their solutions. Addressing climate change strengthens nature’s ability to absorb carbon and adapt to climate impacts. Despite only receiving 3% of global public finance dedicated to mitigation measures, nature-based climate solutions have the potential to provide 30% of emissions reductions needed by 2030 to achieve a 1.5°C pathway.
We Mean Business Coalition endorses the recommendations issued by Business for Nature in July 2024 outlining the policies, legislation, regulations and incentives needed to create a nature-positive economy.
Building on the Integrated Policy Asks co-developed by We Mean Business Coalition and Business for Nature in 2021, this latest set of recommendations provides comprehensive guidance to governments working to implement the Global Biodiversity Framework and achieve the Paris Agreement.
